Individuals and families are struggling to gain access to medical testing and treatment according to the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society's guidelines and Standards of Care.
Many Lyme Literate Medical Doctors cannot accept insurance and choose to operate on a cash-only basis in order to treat people with tick-borne diseases with long term antibiotics (www.ILADS.org)
Additionally, laboratories that specialize in testing for tick-borne illnesses must also operate on a cash-only basis.
For this reason, Kansas Tick-Borne Disease Advocates, Inc. needs your help to raise money for grants to individuals/families to access Lyme Literate Physicians, trained at www.ilads.org, or who have demonstrated a reasonable success rate in caring for people using long term antibiotics. We also help through Advocacy, Education, Support: Sponsoring a 5K Run & Walk and May Awareness Month, helping support groups provide education.
